Pedestrian killed, 2 injured in Youree Drive crash
SHREVEPORT, La. — One pedestrian is dead and two people are critically injured following a Friday afternoon crash on Youree Drive.
Police said the driver of a car ran off the road and hit a SporTran bus stop.

The Shreveport Police Department responded to the crash at Youree Drive and East Stoner Avenue shortly before 2 p.m.
Investigators say a southbound 2022 Honda Accord left the road, hit a street sign and light pole, and overturned multiple times. The vehicle demolished a bus shelter, striking two waiting pedestrians, before stopping against a traffic signal pole.
Both pedestrians and the driver were taken to Ochsner LSU Health with life-threatening injuries. One pedestrian later died. The second pedestrian and the driver remain in critical condition.
Bystanders rendered aid to the victims before first responders arrived.
Officers collected a voluntary blood sample from the driver for analysis at the North Louisiana Crime Lab. Police have not determined if impairment was a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
