Owen Houtakker continues coverage of the campaign season as the Cheyenne Teachers Education Association hosted a general election forum featuring candidates for Laramie County School District 1 Board of Trustees, who discussed their views on the important issues facing the largest K-12 public school district in Wyoming.
There was a lot that transpired during Monday's Cheyenne City Council meeting. In addition to annexing and rezoning the land on the Cox Ranch property for a data center in Thursday's editions, Alyssa Tolman has two more stories from that session for today's coverage.
The first is the council advancing several Orchard Hills data center items ahead of Oct. 12 final vote. This project is proposed to be located west of South Greeley Highway, south of West College Drive and adjacent to the existing Meta data center campus.
Councilors also discussed an item regarding adoption of a comprehensive climate action plan, but decided to amend the resolution to clarify that the city would acknowledge receipt of the document rather than formally adopt it.
Owen also checks in with the Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Labor, Health and Social Services Committee sponsoring a bill that would offer an alternative path for international physicians to become licensed in Wyoming.
In Sports, Alex Taylor has an in-depth feature about University of Wyoming defensive coordinator Aaron Bohl and his return to Fargo as the Cowboys prepare to take on North Dakota State. Matt Atencio takes a look at Pine Bluffs junior quarterback Eli Currie guiding the offense after moving under center from previously playing at tight end.
Have a wonderful day!
