Emergency crews responded to a train derailment in Harrison County that forced the closure of FM 2199 Thursday afternoon.

According to information provided to KMHT, multiple rail cars derailed along the Union Pacific line in the area of FM 1998 and FM 2199.

Officials reported there was no fire and no hazardous materials involved in the derailment.

Union Pacific crews, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and Harrison County ESD 3 Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The Harrison County Fire Marshal also responded, and the Texas Division of Emergency Management was notified.
