Showers and storms to start the weekend
Well if you didn’t know already, Texoma has been really hot and dry this month.

However, some portions of Texoma did get some rain and storms on Friday morning.

McAlester is the winner so far Friday with half an inch of precipitation, while most everyone else got close to a tenth of an inch.
So while this these most certainly do not represent drought-busting totals, our rain and storm chances don’t end on Friday.
A low end severe threat exists Saturday afternoon and evening.
Our friends from the Storm Prediction Center have recently included much of eastern Texoma in a Level 1 out of 5 marginal risk for severe weather on Saturday.

Main hazards for any of the strongest storms we could see are 60-70 mph wind gusts, and hail up to quarter size.
Chances for storms still look scattered for most of Texoma on Saturday, which will lead to widely low and scattered rainfall totals. Regardless, we will take any and all totals we can get, as rain chances still look slim at this time.
Future rainfall totals still look minimal going into the weekend and beyond.
