Rockport man tied to civil lawsuit arrested on child pornography charge
ROCKPORT — A 29-year-old Rockport man was arrested Aug. 20 on a felony warrant charging him with possession with intent to promote child pornography. Brandon Lee Nguyen was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. by the Rockport Police Department, according to a report from the department. He was released from jail a day later.

ROCKPORT — A 29-year-old Rockport man was arrested Aug. 20 on a felony warrant charging him with possession with intent to promote child pornography. Brandon Lee Nguyen was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. by the Rockport Police Department, according to a report from the department. He was released from jail a day later.
The arrest stems from a criminal investigation generated by Rockport police on March 26.
According to an incident report from the department, information discovered during a separate police investigation indicated the alleged offense occurred between June 1, 2025, and Dec. 23, 2025.
Police reported in September 2025 that Nguyen allegedly communicated in a sexual manner with a 17-year-old female high school student using the GroupMe electronic messaging application.
The report stated Nguyen allegedly requested sexual images from the student while she was at school, then allegedly received and possessed those images while she was under 18 years of age.
Investigators also reported locating evidence that Nguyen allegedly requested graphic descriptions of sexual acts involving his brother, Joshua Lee Nguyen, and the minor student. Joshua Lee Nguyen was recently indicted on four alleged felony counts of improper relationship between an educator and a student.
Rockport police listed two active felony offense investigations in connection with the case: possession with intent to promote child pornography and sexual performance by a child produce, direct, or promote.
Aransas County jail records showed that Brandon Nguyen was arrested on the possession with intent to promote child pornography charge. He was released on Aug. 21 on a $50,000 surety bond.
Brandon Lee Nguyen was previously named alongside his brothers in a civil lawsuit filed in May in Aransas County district court alleging civil sexual assault, sexual abuse, and intentional infliction of emotional distress involving a minor. According to court filings, the brothers have denied the allegations.
