This year’s Liberty Hill Sculpture Festival is more than a celebration of art — it’s a celebration of 50 years of Liberty Hill’s unique sculpture legacy.

Join us Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lions Foundation Park as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic 1976 International Sculpture Symposium and celebrate the artists, stories and community that have helped make sculpture an important part of Liberty Hill’s identity.

To mark the milestone, this year’s Sculpture Festival will be bigger than ever, bringing together longtime festival favorites, new activities, special guests and opportunities to look back at where Liberty Hill’s sculpture story began — and where it’s headed next.

Celebrating 50 Years of Sculpture

In 1976, Liberty Hill became home to an international gathering of sculptors who came together to create monumental works of art from Texas limestone. Their work established a legacy that continues today through the Liberty Hill International Sculpture Park and the community’s ongoing commitment to public art.

Fifty years later, the 2026 Sculpture Festival will honor that history while introducing a new generation to the art and artists who are continuing the tradition.

And this year, visitors won’t just get to admire Liberty Hill’s sculpture history — they’ll get to watch a new piece of it being created.

Sculptors will be creating a new piece that will become a permanent installation in the Liberty Hill International Sculpture Park, adding to the collection and carrying Liberty Hill’s sculpture legacy into its next 50 years.

Watch the Sculptors at Work

The community is invited to get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process in the days leading up to the festival.

Beginning Wednesday, October 7, sculptors will be working at Lions Foundation Park each day through Saturday, October 10. The public is welcome to stop by the park and watch as they carve, shape and transform stone into a new permanent work of art for the Sculpture Park.

It’s a rare opportunity to see professional sculptors at work and watch a new piece of Liberty Hill history take shape right in front of you.

Community members can also help us welcome the visiting sculptors to Liberty Hill! Anyone interested in helping provide meals or housing for sculptors during their stay can email kansler@libertyhilltx.gov for more information.

Festival Activities

On Saturday, October 10, the celebration comes together for a full day of art, music and family fun, including:

  • Live music on the Band Stage

  • Live sculpting demonstrations

  • Sculpture Park tours

  • Legacy Speakers and special guests

  • Fun Run

  • Pet Costume Contest

  • Kids Craft Tent

  • Inflatable Kids Zone

  • Vendors from The Market LHTX

  • Custom art installations created by LHISD students

  • Special 50th anniversary experiences and activities

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to take home one of the sculptures created during the live demonstrations. All money raised through the raffle will support the Liberty Hill International Sculpture Park.
