BEEVILLE – The Beeville Water Supply District board voted on Thursday, Aug. 20, to maintain its current property tax rate for the 2026–2027 fiscal year while setting public hearings on the upcoming budget.

The proposed tax rate will remain at $0.07000 per $100 of property valuation. Despite the steady rate, adjusted property values will result in a $23,403 reduction in tax levy revenue for maintenance and operations compared to the previous year.

The board scheduled public hearings for both the proposed budget and the tax rate for Sept. 8 at noon. A second reading and final vote to adopt the budget and tax rate are slated for Sept. 15.

During the budget review, board members also discussed ongoing infrastructure operations. The district is continuing work to identify secondary water sources through local wells while maintaining existing plant capacity with recommendations from Garver Engineering.

In other business, the board voted to nominate City Manager Andy Joslin for Place 3 on the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees.
