Chief Jim DePalma is retiring after “years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to both our department and the community,” the Colonial Regional Police Association said in a Facebook post.

“Your leadership, guidance, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the officers and community you served,” the association said in the post.

“We are grateful for the time, commitment, and sacrifices you have given throughout your career.”

The association says Darrin Wendling will become the new police chief.

Michael Enstrom has been promoted to Lieutenant, Keith Kulp has been promoted to Detective Sergeant, and Justin Schippang has been promoted to Sergeant, the association says.

The Colonial Regional Police Department serves Lower Nazareth Township and Hanover Township, Northampton County.
