Man shot, killed after confrontation with 2 people at home in West Easton
Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation.
EASTON, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police say a man was shot and killed after a confrontation at a home in West Easton.
Troopers responded to the 100 block of Spring Street for the report of a shooting shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, state police said in a news release.
State police said a 52-year-old man was shot and killed inside the home after a confrontation with two other people inside the home.
“Upon arrival, troopers gained entry into the residence and found a 52-year-old deceased male with gunshot wounds inside the residence,” Trooper Nathan Branosky said.
Branosky said the man lived at the home.
There is no threat to the public, state police said.
Spring Street is closed between East Street and Ridge Street for the investigation.
The Northampton County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Other people who were inside the home were taken in for questioning, according to State Police.
Investigators’ next steps include obtaining a search warrant, conducting additional interviews, and working with the Northampton County Coroner’s Office and District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is currently ongoing by the Troop M Major Case Team.
