Former President George W. Bush visiting Lehigh University this fall
Bush served as the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Former President George W. Bush will visit Lehigh University this fall to open the university's 2026-27 "Compelling Perspectives" series on Oct. 29.
Hosted by University President Joseph J. Helble, the series aims to foster respectful discourse and encourage engagement across differing perspectives on issues of critical societal importance, school officials said.
"Such dialogue serves as a powerful tool to foster social cohesion, build trust and strengthen community bonds," the university stated on its website.
Bush served as the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009.
Highlights of his administration include the creation of the No Child Left Behind Act, Medicare modernization, the response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and global HIV/AIDS and malaria initiatives.
Following his tenure in office, he and former First Lady Laura Bush established the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas.
