Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue gets big boost from state
Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue is getting a big boost from the state.
BOYERTOWN, Pa. – Firefighters are getting a big boost from the state.
Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue was awarded $750,000 for a new fire truck Monday.
State Sen. Tracy Pennycuick, a Republican who serves parts of Berks and Montgomery counties, came out to the station in Boyertown to present the check.
Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue serves approximately 10,000 residents in the areas of Boyertown, Colebrookdale Township and the northern half of Douglass Township.
The company has no paid staff. It is entirely made up of volunteers.
