Fatal Shooting Generic

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Upper Pottsgrove Township.

According to District Attorney Kevin R. Steele, Upper Pottsgrove Township Police officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a possible attempted break-in at a home on Snyder Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a man behind the residence. An encounter followed, during which police fired at the suspect, fatally striking him.

In accordance with county protocol for officer-involved shootings, the Montgomery County Detective Bureau has taken over the investigation.
