Yellowstone National Park fire danger raised to “HIGH”
MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, Wyo. — Yellowstone National Park (YNP) announced on Tuesday that the fire danger level across the park had been officially set to “HIGH.”

Park officials reported that no fire restrictions are currently in place or planned within the park, and that no uncontrolled wildland fires are active at this time.
“Campfires are only permitted within established fire rings and grates in designated campgrounds, picnic areas and some backcountry campsites,” YNP officials stated. “Campfires must always be attended and cold to the touch before abandoning. Soak, stir, feel, repeat.”
The Greater Yellowstone area is reportedly a fire-adapted ecosystem, where researchers have determined that fire helps support the wildlife habitat and vegetation.
