The sheriff’s office said the fire was on forest service land west of Strawberry Butte and east of I-15 above the Pinecrest/Mountain View subdivision area.
It said no structures were threatened at the time of its report at 6:38 a.m.
“Please avoid the area and do not call dispatch for information unless you have an emergency. More information will be posted as it becomes available,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
