MISSOULA, Mont. — The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is warning people about scam calls targeting friends and family of inmates at the Missoula County Detention Facility.

Investigators said callers are pressuring people to believe they can bond out a loved one because that person might qualify for special programs.

The sheriff's office also warned about another common scam. In those cases, callers claim someone misses jury duty and has a warrant for their arrest that can be cleared up by paying over the phone.

The department reminded the public that deputies, jail staff and civilian staff with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office will not call to demand money.
