Missing fishing group vehicle

UPDATE AT 6:01 PM:

Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff Ed Lester reports the missing fisherman have been found and are safe.

The group was found by a rescue helicopter from Malmstrom Air Force Base north of Many Lake around 5 pm walking along the roadway.

Rescuers from several agencies were able to get to the group and they were taken to safety.

“We are very happy that everyone is safe. We appreciate the hard work of the rescuers and the coordination among Jefferson, Anaconda-Deer Lodge, Powell and Silver Bow counties,” Lester said.

BUTTE, Mont. - Butte police are searching for a fishing group in the Browns Gulch, American Gulch, Flame Gulch and Bernice area that have not been seen since departing Butte on Tuesday at around 6:30 p.m. 

Police said the missing people are Paul Klimpel, aged 40, along with Landon Klimpel, Parker Klimpel, Pace Klimpel and Knox Klimpel, aged 16, 14, 12 and 10. 

Butte police said the group was traveling in a 2001 white Ford Ranger with a black flatbed and Montana license plate EGS848.
