Helena honors Bengal Billy with Helena High Hall of Fame spot

Helena, Montana — A Helena man known as Bengal Billy was inducted into Helena High School’s Hall of Fame as supporters gathered to celebrate one of the school’s most recognizable fans.

William Neissus, has attended Helena High games since before his 1979 graduation and is widely known as one of the school’s biggest supporters.

A large group gathered at the Mount Ascension Transitional Care Home for the induction celebration. The event included chants of Billy’s name as people showed their appreciation.

Neissus also shared advice for others who want to support student athletes at their schools.

"Just get supportive for any high school you get into and if you have a son or daughter out there playing, just root them on and know that they are loved by being in the sport too," Neissus said.

The celebration highlighted Billy’s longtime connection to Helena High and the support he has shown for the school community.
