Gallatin County deputies investigate River Rock shooting after Suspect Flees area
BELGRADE, Mont. — Gallatin County sheriff deputies investigated a shooting on Woodman Drive in River Rock on Sunday afternoon after a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and the suspected shooter left the county.
BELGRADE, Mont. — Gallatin County sheriff deputies investigated a shooting on Woodman Drive in River Rock on Sunday afternoon after a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and the suspected shooter left the county.
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, to a report of a weapons disturbance in the River Rock area.
When deputies arrived, they found a victim with several gunshot injuries. He was taken to Bozeman Health for treatment and was later released.
Investigators identified a suspect and said the person appeared to have left the area and was no longer in Gallatin County.
“This is an active investigation and we will keep the public informed as we learn more. To preserve the integrity of the investigation, we will release the names of those involved once arrest warrants are served,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also thanked the Belgrade Police Department, Bozeman Police Department, Montana Highway Patrol and local fire, medical and emergency management crews for helping with the investigation.
