Fatal dirt bike crash on Frontage Road in Bozeman
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Bozeman police responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision at 10:00 p.m. on July 3. On arrival, the police and bystanders attempted lifesaving efforts on the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Bozeman police responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision at 10:00 p.m. on July 3. On arrival, the police and bystanders attempted lifesaving efforts on the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the motorcyclist will be released at a later date.
The collision occurred on Frontage road and the westbound on-ramp to Interstate 90.
Detectives from the Bozeman Police Department reported they are investigating the incident.
A Jeep traveled eastbound on Frontage Road when the driver made a left-hand turn. In the intersection, a dirt bike traveled westbound on Frontage Road and hit the passenger side of the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep said they did not see the dirt bike with no forward-facing headlamp or other lighting on the dirt bike. Investigators found no evidence of lighting equipment on the dirt bike.
Reports revealed that there was no indication the driver of the Jeep was impaired, and they are cooperating with the investigation.
The Bozeman Police department extended condolences to the family and friends of the motorcyclist and the community.
