Dirty rags suspected of sparking garage fire in West Riverside
MISSOULA, Mont. - A detached garage at a residence in West Riverside sustained significant damage after a fire on Sunday night, which the Missoula Rural Fire District (MRFD) said in a press release may have started due to dirty rags soaked in flammable liquid.

MRFD firefighters were dispatched to the house on 4th Street just after 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Crews knocked down the garage fire and successfully prevented spread to other structures and nearby outbuildings.
"The cause of the blaze remains under investigation however initial indications point to rags that were wet with a flammable liquid left piled in the garage," MRFD said. "Residents are reminded to exercise caution with rags that are used in processes that involve flammable liquids."
Other agencies that responded to the fire included the East Missoula Fire District, Clinton Fire District, Missoula Emergency Services, Inc., Missoula County Sheriff's Office and Montana Highway Patrol.
No injuries were reported, MRFD said.
