MISSOULA, Mont. – Two members of a Chicago-based drug ring admitted to charges of fraudulently acquiring oxycodone from Montana pharmacies.

The District of Missoula U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a press release that the men pleaded guilty at the start of this week.

The government alleged in court documents that the two men, a 23-year-old and a -32-year-old, paid for a group of people to fly to Montana and use fake prescriptions at pharmacies to obtain Oxycodone and controlled substances.

The members of the team, based in Chicago, would then give the oxycodone to the two men, who distributed it, the attorney’s office said.

After their arrest, the two men pleaded guilty to charges relating to the “intent to distribute oxycodone.” Their charges could result in up to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment.

The attorney’s office said the men will be sentenced on November 10, 2026 in Missoula. It also said the men were “released pending further proceedings.”
