A 49-year-old Maryland man was killed in a crash in Belgrade on Thursday.

The man, whose name was not immediately available, was driving an SUV near Frontage Road and Ali John Drive when the vehicle went off the road to the right, according to a report from Montana Highway Patrol. The vehicle then reentered the roadway, began to rotate counterclockwise, and went off the road to the left, the report states.

“The vehicle continued off the roadway sideways where it ran up an embankment, landing and overturning multiple times,” reads the report. “Driver was pronounced deceased on scene.”

The driver's 33-year-old passenger, a Belgrade woman, survived, the report indicates. She reportedly had her seatbelt on, while the driver did not.
