Body found on Clark Canyon Reservoir island under investigation

DILLON, Mont. — Authorities are investigating after deputies recovered the body of an adult man from an island at Clark Canyon Reservoir on the morning of July 30, 2026.
The Beaverhead County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that deputies responded to a report of an unattended death and later recovered the man's body. The agency said the cause and manner of death were still under investigation.
The sheriff's office said the man had been identified. His name was not released because of the active investigation and out of respect for his family.
Officials said they were not releasing any more information at this time. The Beaverhead County Sheriff's Office [link] said more updates could come as the investigation continued.
