A Sedalia man died after his UTV struck a tree and came to rest on top of him Saturday night.

The 43-year-old crashed at 11091 Leisure Drive in Benton County around 6:05 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

He was pronounced dead by the Benton County coroner at 6:33 p.m., according to the report.

The man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and his UTV was totaled, according to the report.

The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
