(The Center Square) – Maryland’s major-party nominees for governor, attorney general and comptroller are set for the Nov. 3 general election after this week’s primary, with Gov. Wes Moore facing Republican Dan Cox in a rematch of the 2022 race.

Moore and Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller won the Democratic gubernatorial nomination for a second term, according to unofficial results from the Maryland State Board of Elections. The pair received 434,036 votes, or nearly 88% of the Democratic vote.

Cox and running mate Rob Krop won a crowded Republican primary with 83,895 votes, about 44% of the vote. Retired banking executive Ed Hale finished second with 68,342 votes.

The primary also set the major-party nominees for Maryland’s other statewide offices.

Attorney General Anthony Brown advanced unopposed in the Democratic primary and will face Republican James Rutledge III in November.

Comptroller Brooke Lierman also ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination and will face Republican Sonya Dunn in the general election.

Voters also selected nominees for Maryland’s congressional races.

In the 1st Congressional District, Democrat Dan Schwartz will face Republican Rep. Andy Harris.

In the 2nd District, Democratic Rep. Johnny Olszewski Jr. will face Republican Dave Wallace.

In the 3rd District, Democratic Rep. Sarah Elfreth will face Republican Air Force veteran Berney Flowers.

In the 4th District, Democratic Rep. Glenn Ivey will face Republican George E. McDermott, who went unchallenged in the primary.

In the open 5th District, Democrat Adrian Boafo will face Republican Chris Chaffee.

In the 7th District, Democratic Rep. Kweisi Mfume will face Republican Scott M. Collier.

In the 8th District, Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin will face Republican Cheryl Riley.
