STONEWALL, La. -- Newly elected Stonewall Mayor Randy Rodgers took the oath of office first thing Tuesday morning. 
 
With his wife, Pam, by his side, Rodgers was sworn in by DeSoto Parish Chief Judge Amy Burford McCartney. 
 
Rodgers is getting to work right away. His first goal is to address a road construction project that was put into motion during his previous term -- 2018 to 2022 -- as mayor. 
 
"When I left office, Rambin Road rebuilding was on the books to be done. I'd found out the money's there, I have instructed the engineers to be ready to put it out to bids. And let's get started on it, because that's the biggest problem that there is right now in town of Stonewall," Rodgers said.
 
Rodgers won election on June 27 by defeating incumbent Mayor Ken Kaffka. Both were in runoff after receiving the identical number of votes during the primary election.
