SPD: Woman found dead downtown in car; foul play not suspected
SHREVEPORT, La. -- Foul play is not suspected in the death of a woman found in a parked vehicle in downtown Shreveport Thursday morning, police said.

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Foul play is not suspected in the death of a woman found in a parked vehicle in downtown Shreveport Thursday morning, police said.
Officers responded to the 600 block of Milam Street where they found the woman in a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Bossier City. The woman was identified as a relative of the vehicle's owner and as a suspect in the vehicle's theft, Cpl. Chris Bordelon said in a news release.
Shreveport police investigators used footage from the Real Time Crime Center, which maintains 24-hour camera surveillance of the area, to eliminate foul play.
There was no criminal activity connected to her death, Bordelon said.
"While it is not the Shreveport Police Department's standard practice to issue press releases regarding deaths determined to be the result of natural causes, suicide, or overdose, the location of this incident and the public attention it generated made it important to provide accurate information to the community and dispel unnecessary concern," Bordelon said.
The investigation into the exact cause and manner of death remains under the jurisdiction of the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office.
