SHREVEPORT, La. - Shreveport police have revised details in a deadly shooting Thursday afternoon that included two crime scenes and left two people dead and several others injured by gunfire and car crashes. 

Additionally, SPD has identified the man alleged to have initiated the crime spree that at its height was considered a mass casualty incident involving dozens of police and fire units. 

Late Thursday afternoon, police said two people were killed in connection to what started out as a domestic violence incident -- a woman who was fatally shot and a person involved in a crash. At that time, however, police were unsure if the person in the crash was hit by another car or suffered a medical emergency. 

Friday morning, Cpl. Chris Bordelon said the driver who crashed at Vernon Street and Linwood Avenue was resuscitated at the scene and taken to the hospital, where he was still believed to be alive. 

But The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office later in the morning said the man, identified as Chuckie Brooks, 57, died of his injuries at 7:35 p.m. Thursday. 

The woman who was killed by gunfire was identified Friday afternoon as Imunique Williams, 22. The coroner said she was shot several times as she left Linwood. 

SPD identified the suspect as Thomas Lemons, 23. He's currently held in the Shreveport City Jail on one charge of second-degree murder. 

The deadly rampage started just before 4 p.m. when SPD responded to a report of shots fired in the 5800 block of Attaway Street. On their way there, officers found a vehicle riddled with bullets at the intersection of 61st Street and Linwood Avenue. Williams, who was in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is the city's 25th homicide. 

Bordelon said officers determined Lemons pursued Williams through the neighborhood at a high rate of speed while repeatedly firing into her vehicle. It crossed into oncoming traffic near the intersection of Vernon Street and Linwood Avenue, where it hit another vehicle and critically injured the driver, now identified as Brooks.

After that collision, Lemons got out of his car and started firing his gun at passing vehicles and people in the area, Bordelon said.

Three people were hit by the random gunfire.  

All of the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

Lemons was arrested on the scene and taken to the hospital to be checked out. After he was medically cleared, he was interviewed by detectives. 

During the interview, Lemons invoked his right to remain silent and declined to provide a statement, Bordelon said. 

Detectives are working with the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office and anticipate filing other charges against Lemons as the investigation continues.
