SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport police on Monday arrested a Shreveport man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that happened last month.

Jamarcus "J.D." Harris, 18, was picked up on a warrant for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Chemarcus Griffin, 24. 

The shooting happened on June 24 in the 4000 block of Union Avenue. Officers found Griffin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

During the investigation, witnesses reported that Harris allegedly approached Griffin during a confrontation, placed a handgun against his neck and fired multiple rounds at close range before running away.

Detectives identified Harris the next day as the suspect and secured an arrest warrant. 

During the search for Harris, officers considered him armed and dangerous.

SPD patrol officers located Harris on Monday. No details of his arrest were provided.
