SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport police said a "dangerous felon" facing multiple felony offenses was arrested Thursday through a joint agency investigation. 

Johnny Cannon was taken into custody and booked on the following charges: 

  • Human trafficking of children for sexual purposes
  • Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile
  • Indecent behavior with a juvenile
  • Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile
  • Two counts of possession of Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substances with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule II CDS
  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of a firearm while in possession of CDS

The SPD Sex Crimes Unit was jointed by the Vice Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task force in investigating and arresting Cannon as part of an ongoing investigation. 

"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to aggressively investigating individuals who exploit children and working alongside our local, state, and federal partners to identify offenders and protect vulnerable victims," Cpl. Chris Bordelon said in a news release Friday. "SPD thanks the Louisiana Attorney General’s ICAC Task Force and all investigators involved in this operation for their continued partnership and dedication to combating crimes against children."
