Nicholaus Smith was arrested arter the victim went to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Smith allegedly hit the victim multiple times in the face.
The victim gave a statement and a medical release to allow detectives to obtain records related to her treatment.
Based on the evidence, Smith was arrested and taken to the Shreveport City Jail.
