BUDDY FLETT

SHREVEPORT, La. - Red River Radio is remembering Shreveport blues musician Buddy Flett with a two-hour special dedicated to the late music legend.

It begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and will be hosted by John Ellis.

Flett began performing in the mid-1970s and became a founding member of the popular blues and R&B band A-Train. Flett later fronted The Bluebirds, a Louisiana blues trio known for its soulful sound and extensive touring.

He was a staple of the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival, performing at the event for 20 of its 21 years.

Flett died in May at the age of 73.
