Nighttime lane closures extended for Jimmie Davis Bridge project

SHREVEPORT — Nighttime lane closures on the Jimmie Davis Bridge remain in effect, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

The closures on state Highway 511, spanning Caddo and Bossier parishes, take place Mondays through Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. State officials expect these restrictions to stay in place until approximately June 20.

At that time, crews will temporarily remove the closures while workers paint the existing bridge structure. Once the painting is complete, the nightly lane restrictions will resume so crews can dismantle the painting containment system.

The transportation department will issue additional travel updates before the containment system removal begins.
