NATCHITOCHES, La. -- The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night on Hill Avenue.

Officers were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. to the area after getting a call about a gunshot victim. They found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the arm.

Officers applied a tourniquet while waiting on first responders. The man was then taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, treated and released.

Investigators and officers canvassed the crime scene for additional evidence and spoke with several witnesses while on Hill Avenue.
