Natchitoches City Council adopts 2026-2027 fiscal budget
NATCHITOCHES, La. — The Natchitoches City Council officially adopted its 2026-2027 fiscal budget during a meeting Tuesday night, establishing a new spending plan for the coming year.

NATCHITOCHES, La. — The Natchitoches City Council officially adopted its 2026-2027 fiscal budget during a meeting Tuesday night, establishing a new spending plan for the coming year.
The approved budget includes more than $23 million allocated for the general fund. Additionally, the council set aside $44 million for capital projects.
The budget’s passage came with a specific condition. Council members added an amendment that requires the council to approve any new economic development consultants before city money can be spent on those services.
