Mooringsport man killed in Bossier hit-and-run
BOSSIER CITY, La. - A Mooringsport man was killed while walking along Benton Road late Saturday night.

According to Louisiana State Police, troopers responded to the fatal hit-and-run crash on Benton Road near Courtney Lane. Jerry Vest, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved did not contact law enforcement and drove away from the scene.
Katelyn Vest described her husband, Jerry, as a "loving father" to their daughter, Lena, 5.
"He spent 26 years as an airbrush artist, sharing his creativity and passion with everyone he met. Jerry was devoted to his family and always brought joy to those around him," she wrote in a GoFundMe account.
Katelyn Vest said funds raised will help cover funeral expenses, allow her to take time off work to plan the funeral and to support Lena.
Troopers are working to identify the driver and vehicle involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact LSP at 318-741-7411.
