Mississippi man arrested in Webster Parish in connection with Ridgeland drive-by shooting investigation
MINDEN, La. — A Mississippi man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting investigation was arrested Saturday in Webster Parish after Louisiana State Police located his vehicle on Interstate 20.
MINDEN, La. — A Mississippi man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting investigation was arrested Saturday in Webster Parish after Louisiana State Police located his vehicle on Interstate 20.
According to Louisiana State Police, the Ridgeland Police Department in Mississippi requested assistance shortly before 12:45 p.m. Saturday in locating a vehicle that had been identified in a BOLO -- or be on the lookout alert -- as allegedly being involved in a drive-by shooting.
State troopers found the vehicle being driven westbound on Interstate 20 east of Minden and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as Jaterris C. Johnson, 24, of Mississippi, was taken into custody without incident.
Johnson was booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center as a fugitive on an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgeland Police Department. The warrant charges him with shooting into a dwelling.
He is awaiting extradition to Mississippi.
State police said the vehicle was seized as evidence and will be processed by the Ridgeland Police Department.
