Lightning strike blamed for Claiborne Parish Courthouse electrical problems

Due to this damage the judge's office and all other offices located inside the courthouse are closed indefinitely until damage can be assessed and the appropriate repairs made, the Claiborne Parish Police Jury said in a social media post.
Anyone who has business with the judge's office should call (318 )624-4707. The regular phone number is inoperable due to the damage.
The Police Jury expressed its appreciation to Homer Fire Chief Tommy Sanders and his volunteers for their quick action last night which prevented "catastrophic damage to our historic landmark."
