LifeShare Blood Center hosts 'Red, White & You' blood drive
SHREVEPORT, La. — LifeShare Blood Center launched its annual United We Give community blood drive Wednesday, an initiative aimed at combatting a steep summer decline in local blood donations.
SHREVEPORT, La. — LifeShare Blood Center launched its annual United We Give community blood drive Wednesday, an initiative aimed at combatting a steep summer decline in local blood donations.
The three-day drive, which runs through Friday, arrives during a critical season for the blood supply. While the medical need for blood products remains constant, regional donations typically drop by nearly 20% during the summer months.
To encourage participation, LifeShare is offering donors a limited-edition "Red, White & YOU" T-shirt and a $25 gift card. The promotional items are available to participants at all LifeShare donor centers and mobile drives, with the exception of the Baton Rouge location.
Area residents can donate at several regional hubs, including the Shreveport donor center at 8910 Linwood Ave. and the Bossier City donor center at 1523 Doctors Lane.
