Lake Claiborne gears up for 2026 Freedom Fest Finale
HOMER, La. - Lake Claiborne will transform into a patriotic playground for the KTBS 3 Freedom Fest, featuring a day of parades on land and water before a massive fireworks display caps off the Independence Day celebration.
HOMER, La. - Lake Claiborne will transform into a patriotic playground for the KTBS 3 Freedom Fest, featuring a day of parades on land and water before a massive fireworks display caps off the Independence Day celebration.
The Claiborne Parish Watershed District will host the annual event. All festivities are free and open to the public.
Festivities will begin in the afternoon with a golf cart parade at 2 p.m. at Pleasure Point Marina.
A patriotic boat parade will follow at 5 p.m. It will start at the entrance to the Lake Claiborne State Park cove near the dam. The parade will travel across the water and end after exiting the Pleasure Point and Kel's Kove area.
The annual fireworks display will launch from the Lake Claiborne dam at dusk.
Organizers note that the public will not be permitted on the dam or its slopes for viewing. These areas are reserved for authorized emergency personnel and fireworks technicians.
Spectators are encouraged to find viewing locations around the lake. Recommended viewing spots include the state park and local marinas.
Like every year, there will be multiple locations across the ArkLaTex to view the spectacular fireworks shows, courtesy of KTBS' sponsors.
