Keep Texarkana Beautiful volunteers

TEXARKANA, Texas - Keep Texarkana Beautiful board members and volunteers were out early Saturday morning picking up trash in the Karrh Park area and surrounding neighborhoods.

The committee's mission is to beautify the city, reduce waste, recycle, educate and involve the community.

"We do community cleanups a couple of times throughout the year," said KTB President Brittney Haynes. "In the beginning, we do our spring cleanup, which is usually around March, April, and then in September we do another fall sweep; so, we think that we should have more than just two community cleanups, so, that's our initiative, to continue that throughout the summer instead of just some in the beginning of the year and at the end of the year."  

Year-round volunteer opportunities include the Adopt-a-Spot Program and Adopt-a-Highway Program.
