DOTD to begin repair work on Colquitt Road

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development on Thursday will begin a $9.2 million project to repair and improve a nearly 10-mile section of Colquitt Road in south Caddo Parish.

The project, which stretches from U.S. Highway 171 state Highway 169 at Spring Ridge, includes full-depth base repairs to strengthen the roadway, cross drain pipe replacement, concrete pavement patching, milling to remove old asphalt, new asphalt paving, fresh roadway striping and related work.

The contractor will begin with the full-depth base repair portion of the project at various locations along Colquitt Road before moving on to subsequent construction activities.

Motorists should expect alternating or intermittent lane closures -- with the possibility of flagging operations at times -- to allow construction to progress safely and efficiently, DOTD said.

During the cross drain pipe replacement, a full road closure at the designated location will be necessary. DOTD will issue an additional MyDOTD notification and specific location information when that date is finalized.

The entire project is estimated to wrap up in late spring 2027, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
