MARSHALL, Texas - A large crash has shut down both directions of Interstate 20 just outside of Marshall.

According to an emergency scanner for the Harrison County Fire Marshal, both east and westbound I-20 were "on fire."

Video and images from the scene provided to KTBS shows an active blaze that covers both sides of the interstate.

In one video provided by 'Everything Marshall,' a trailer on the shoulder of the interstate appears to be completely engulfed in flames.

Eyewitness and Volunteer Firefighter Gunner Millwood told KTBS he witnessed the fire first hand.

He arrived when the trailer first caught fire. Millwood called 911 and checked on the passengers of the vehicle pulling the trailer.

Millwood said they told him the trailer was carrying a race car along with containers filled with gasoline and nitrous oxide. 

"As they were telling me that I was walking back to my vehicle to make sure that my fiance and my baby were okay, and I had walked back over towards them, and as I was walking towards them, an explosion in the back of the trailer had it had exploded and it started spreading across the whole interstate." said Millwood. 

Millwood said a nearby truck was hit by the blast. Fortunately, the driver was no longer in the vehicle and was in a safe place when the blast occurred. Millwood said the blast was so powerful that the truck's airbags activated.
