Jeremy Young and Carly Ann Henderson

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has filed additional charges against two suspects as detectives continue to investigate the burglary of a home on Nottingham Drive and the death of the homeowner, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

On Monday, Det. Matt Purgerson received new evidence and information indicating that Jeremy Young, 40, and Carly Ann Henderson, 30, allegedly were involved in the burglary of the victim's home on Aug. 4. Detectives also allege new evidence shows that Young and Henderson used the victim's debit card at several retail businesses in south Shreveport.

As a result of the new information, Young and Henderson were charged with one count of burglary and five counts of access device fraud.

The investigation began last week when Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the Nottingham Drive house to perform a welfare check. Deputies found the resident dead inside and later determined that the house had been burglarized and the victim's Jeep had been stolen.

The stolen Jeep was located in the early morning hours on Wednesday at Elsie's Truck Stop on state Highway 1. Young was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop and was initially charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

Later that day, Henderson was found during the investigation after deputies responded to a report of a female trespassing at the Nottingham Drive house. She initially provided investigators with a false identity, leading to charges of criminal trespassing and possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes.

As the investigation progressed, detectives gathered evidence suggesting that Henderson had unlawfully entered the victim's residence. Deputies located a vehicle that Henderson had been driving and recovered property belonging to the dead homeowner. Consequently, she was charged with burglary in connection with that incident.

The investigation into the victim's death is ongoing, and further charges may be forthcoming as detectives continue to collect evidence.
