Coroner releases new details on human remains found near I-20 in Caddo Parish
SHREVEPORT, La. — The human remains found earlier this week near Interstate 20 west of Shreveport have been sent to a forensics lab in Baton Rouge for identification, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

The coroner said the skeletonized remains belong to an adult male, possibly in his 40's.
A mowing crew found the body Tuesday near the eastbound on-ramp at Exit 3.
Mowers told Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies the body was not there the last time mowing was performed in April and May.
A preliminary examination of the remains was performed at the North Louisiana Criminal Investigations Laboratory. However, the body has been sent to the LSU Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Laboratory in Baton Rouge for evaluation and aid in forensic identification.
If that examination and investigation by the coroner's office and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office determine the death was a homicide, the ID will be released.
