MANSFIELD, La. — Community Bank of Louisiana announced on Monday the construction of a new location on the Southern Loop in south Shreveport.

The two-story building will be the newest addition to the Provenance community and marks the bank's fifth office in Shreveport and Caddo Parish and 13th location overall.

Site prep is now underway and building construction will begin late this year.

"Our bank is stronger than ever before, so the timing is right to expand our services in Shreveport. We are proud to kick this project off as we celebrate 125 years in operation and 30 years in Shreveport. As neighborhoods grow and more development moves in, we will be positioned to serve that growth with local leadership, local decision making, and the same conservative banking practices we have been known for since 1901," President/CEO Jayce Simpson said Monday in a news release.

Community Bank has provided banking services in Northwest Louisiana for 125 years. It expanded for the first time into Shreveport in 1996.

“Community Bank of Louisiana’s continued investment in Shreveport reflects the confidence businesses have in our city’s growth and future. This new location will expand services for residents in South Shreveport while contributing to the continued development of the Southern Loop corridor. We appreciate Community Bank’s long-standing commitment to our community and look forward to seeing this project move forward," Mayor Tom Arceneaux said in the release.

The Southern Loop Office will be about a mile from Interstate 49 at the corner of Pecan Square Avenue and Southern Loop, putting it adjacent to Provenance Veterinary Clinic.

Community Bank has selected Prevot Design Services of Shreveport for the design and architecture work.
