SHREVEPORT, La. -- Christian Service held its annual summer fund raiser Saturday evening to help continue its mission to feed those in need.
Volunteers, staff, the Board of Directors and those that just want to support, gave testimony on why the service is so important.
In operation since 1970, Christian Service Executive Director Al Moore said the spirit of giving fuels everything the organization does to help the community that relies on their efforts.
"Just think about it, you can't do anything being hungry. You can't study, you can't work, you can't even function," Moore said. "So, with us feeding 364 days a year, seven days a week, is a blessing to be able to serve our community."
Moore said Christian Service has provided more than 3 million meals in its five decades plus of service.
