KEITHVILLE, La. – Caddo Fire District 4 is asking voters to support two funding renewals on Saturday's ballot that district leaders say are critical to maintaining the fire, EMS, and rescue services residents depend on every day.

District officials stressed the propositions are renewals of existing funding sources—not new taxes. Voter approval would continue the funding currently used to support emergency response, firefighter staffing, ambulances, fire apparatus, rescue equipment, fire hydrant rentals, and station operations.

"Caddo Fire District 4 is proud to provide one of the highest levels of fire, rescue, and emergency medical service in our region," said Fire Chief Joshua Gamble. "These renewals are not about expanding government or increasing the burden on taxpayers. They are about maintaining the services our citizens already receive and expect when they call 911."

Caddo Fire District 4 provides fire suppression, Advanced Life Support ambulance service, rescue operations, severe weather response, public education programs, smoke alarm installations, CPR training, and community risk reduction initiatives throughout the district.

According to Gamble, the renewals will help ensure the district can continue operating and maintaining its emergency vehicles, equipment, stations, and personnel while keeping pace with rising operational costs.

"We take tremendous pride in our firefighters, paramedics, equipment, and service to this community," Gamble said. "These renewals help us continue providing the professional emergency response our citizens deserve while protecting the investments that have already been made in public safety."

District resident Stephanie Phelan said her support for the renewals comes from years of seeing the department's commitment to local families, including her own parents.

"My parents have lived in Caddo Fire District 4 for many years, and I've seen firsthand the care, professionalism, and support this department provides to our community," Phelan said. "Knowing that highly trained firefighters and paramedics are available when families need them most brings tremendous peace of mind. Supporting these renewals is supporting the level of service our community has come to rely on."
