Barksdale Air Force Base display at the East Bank Arts Building

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Residents and visitors have an opportunity to step back in time and explore Bossier City's history through a special exhibit at the East Bank Arts Building celebrating the city's 75th anniversary.

The exhibit features a collection of historic photographs, artwork, memorabilia and artifacts that highlight Bossier City's evolution since it was officially designated a city in 1951. Many of the items on display have been loaned by community members and offer a personal look at the people, places and events that helped shape the city over the decades.

“We have an exhibit celebrating the 75th anniversary of the city of Bossier City,” said Rich Carroll, East Bank Arts Building and Plaza manager. “We're displaying a little bit of the history of our city, some of the things that people have given us on loan to display that tells the story of their lives and the lives of others in the city.”

The free exhibit is open now and will continue through Sept. 15 at the East Bank Arts Building. Visitors can view the gallery Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
