I-20 East body found

CPSO investigators and the Caddo Coroner's Office are on the scene where a body was found Tuesday afternoon along I-20 east. 

SHREVEPORT, La. -- More than a dozen Caddo Parish sheriff's units are investigating the discovery of a body west of Shreveport. 

The body was found in an area where mowing was taking place along the Interstate 20 eastbound at the Greenwood-Mooringsport on-ramp.

CPSO crime scene investigators have placed tape around the side of the mower. 

"Earlier this afternoon, a worker who was cutting the grass on the shoulder of the road saw something suspicious on the side of the road, came back to investigate. Did find some human remains. It does appear that, the remains have been here for some time. Unclear how long, exactly. There was some identification found with the remains. We're still in the process of investigating that and finding out if they do belong to the to the person," said CPSO Lt. Doug Smith.

The Caddo Parish coroner is on the scene.
